Unspecified source for Image:Moldadm_UNG.png

Thanks for uploading Image:Moldadm_UNG.png. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 14:46, 9 June 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Lokal_Profil 14:46, 9 June 2007 (UTC)

Hi Serhio. I see you have created the article Moldova's brief major financial-economic news of the year of 2005. While the article contains a lot of good information, I don't think it really belongs at Wikipedia, since it is basically just news and not really encyclopedic information. Perhaps it would belong at Wikinews? Thanks, Ronline 11:23, 4 January 2006 (UTC)

I agree. This article is something you would see in an economic journal. Notice I say journal, since even a financial newspaper will not go through all the months. Also its length makes it very hard to follow. Constantzeanu 17:14, 4 January 2006 (UTC)

I have redirected this article from Wikinews, because it is not a news, but information about the economical situation in Republic of Moldova for the 2005 year. serhio talk 07:38, 5 January 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:Chi_gates.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images on Wikipedia is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. You can get help on image copyright tagging from Wikipedia talk:Image copyright tags. --OrphanBot 09:47, 21 January 2006 (UTC)

Image Tagging Image:Logop5ht.gif

Warning sign
This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Logop5ht.gif. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you.

Message from a Wikipedian in the U.S.A.

Serhio-

Hello, I am writing because I wanted to correspond with somebody in Moldova. I live in New York, USA, I am a frequent traveler, and I find your country to be very interesting (I would like to visit at some point, perhaps this summer.) I would love to know more about your country, and I have found that talking to a Wikipedian in a foreign country is a great way to get to know the country well and to have friends in many places...if you would like to email me, my address is apriori_paul_hanson@yahoo.com , or you can leave me a message on my talk page. This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Interface mapping, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.jaggersoft.com/csharp_standard/20.4.2.htm. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 14:26, 25 February 2008 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Interface mapping

A tag has been placed on Interface mapping requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must include on the external site the statement "I, (name), am the author of this article, (article name), and I release its content under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.2 and later." You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Reply to your wondering

Salut! Sunt din Balti. Tu? Vrei sa colaboram la Wiki-project Moldova?

1) Eu as vrea sa dezvolt pagini pentru toate localitatile din Moldova. Peste vreun an, poate le termin.

Foarte bune idei, sunt de acord sa colaboram, sunt shi yo bucuros ca mai e cineva. Shi daca in Wikipedia mai este lume ce editeaza Moldova, pai in alte proecte wiki lumea e mai rara. De ex, in Wikinews nu sunt decat yo :);

Spor la treaba in Wikinews. :) Dc76\talk 17:44, 23 April 2008 (UTC)

Wines project

Thanks for the invitation, but I feel I don't have sufficient knowledge or staying power to join. I can randomly look over the cat and fix whatever errors I can find, though. One point: you seem to be overusing capitalization in article/page names. As you can see, for examlpe, here, only region names and proper names are written with a capital letter.

BTW: A very good idea, with the wines! --Illythr (talk) 12:38, 17 May 2008 (UTC)

Hi - a stub template, category, or redirect which you created has been nominated for deletion or renaming at Wikipedia:Stub types for deletion. The stub type, which was not proposed at Wikipedia:WikiProject Stub sorting/Proposals, does not meet the standard requirements for a stub type, either through being incorrectly named, ambiguously scoped, or through failure to meet standards relating to the current stub hierarchy or likely size, as explained at Wikipedia:Stub. Moldovan wine project and few other questions

Hello Serhio, it is always nice to see people contributing to articles on wine! I stumbled across your new articles, primarily on Moldovan wineries after several of them were tagged for the project WP:WINE by another user, who did not complete the assessment. I was going to suggest to you that it probably is better to write fewer and a little longer articles, since almost all the winery articles do not establish the notability of them, and I've seen such articles being put up for WP:AfD many times; not by members of Project Wine, but by "general editors" on the watchout for advertising-looking articles.
Then I stumbled across the page Wikipedia:WikiProject MoldovanWines, with you as the single project member, which really made me puzzled. As far as I can tell, you did not go via Wikipedia:WikiProject Council/Proposals, and you have not followed the steps outlined in Wikipedia:WikiProject Council/Guide. For example, you seem to have made no contact with the parent project WikiProject Wine. (I personally think that a Task Force rather than a Project is the absolute maximum you can assemble on this subject, and even that will be difficult.) You do however have copied much of our project page. Not any "crime", but it seems a little strange to me! For example, the "Project Article Assessment" is actually a list of WikiProject wine's article, and the supposed "List of articles covered by this project" also go to WP Wine articles. Furthermore, what the page claims to be "Wine Related Did You Knows" seem not to have appeared under Wikipedia:Did you know, partially because some don't even exist.
So I'm curious to hear your thoughts about you articles and the project page. Either reply here or on Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Wine. Regards, Tomas e (talk) 20:40, 21 May 2008 (UTC)

Hi Serhio... what I suggest is that you create a Moldovan wine task force within the Wine WikiProject instead. As Tomas outlines, a full WikiProject devoted to Moldovan wines with just one editor is overkill. - Merzbow (talk) 04:56, 22 May 2008 (UTC)

Well, I see now that you are right. I waited some time and sent invitations for people to join the project, but as I can see nobody was interested. I see that I shouldn't begin this project. I'll try to create the task force for Moldovan wines and close the project, not before creating and improving the current pages relaetd to the subject. Thanks for your observations. --serhio talk 07:18, 22 May 2008 (UTC)

You would be most welcome to sign up with WP:WINE - we're always looking for new enthusiasts! No formal taskforces have so far been created, but that's definitely possible. I've seen other projects creating task force "flags" for use with their project tags, as a replacement for a separate stub category. Regards, Tomas e (talk) 12:49, 22 May 2008 (UTC)

I think, I'll create a taskforce when the articles about the subject will worth creating a taskforce. I recognize that a project creation was premature, I think that for a taskforce the subject and articles are not ready yet. As for the wine project, surely, I will join it. --serhio talk 07:01, 23 May 2008 (UTC)

[3]: Don't trust the Firefox spellchecker completely. ;-) First, technically, the "correctness" of the meters/metres thing (and the like) depends on the dictionaries installed (US spelling by default), and second, it's generally a bad idea to fix quotes and book names ("Roumania"). --Illythr (talk) 07:11, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

Well, is a different approach. From one hand I think that the external links should be placed in the bottom of page in the special section; from other hand, your site is quite well designed, and so one, but isn't a thematic one, that from the main page we can't find a way to touch the referenced page but going back in the browser, from the third hand(if the English language permits to me the third), we don't have nowhere this information grouped in one page. Hi, thanks for the tip, but I'm quite sure I'm a native speaker of both languages. Sotnik (talk) 15:45, 11 June 2008 (UTC)

Hmm, have you been born in an English speaking country, or your parents are from there? --serhio talk 07:54, 12 June 2008 (UTC)
Yes, something like that, I grew up in more then one country. Sotnik (talk) 01:57, 15 June 2008 (UTC)
OK, man, forgive me my doubts about and happy editing! :) --serhio talk 05:30, 15 June 2008 (UTC)

Images

Hey Serhio, just wanted to thank you for the imags you uploaded for bilateral relations of Moldova. Could you please do the same for other articles on Moldavian bilateral relations? Thank you so much in advance!--Moldopodotalk 13:50, 13 June 2008 (UTC)

Raions of Moldova

Shouldn't we change the names of the raions of Moldova into an English name: like [ <raion_name> (district) ] or [ <raion_name> Raion ]? currently we have something like [ Raionul <raion_name> ].Xasha (talk) 20:46, 12 June 2008 (UTC)

I think you are right. see the Counties of Romania. We can have also Districts of Moldova ;) --serhio talk 18:11, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
Well, analysing their political and administrative rights, I think the proper name would be canton, not district don't you think? --Moldopodotalk 17:56, 14 June 2008 (UTC)
The Moldovan government uses "rayon" when talking about it in English. (but they also use municipium when talking about municipality)Xasha (talk) 19:03, 14 June 2008 (UTC)
The CIA 2008 Factbook uses "raions" [4].Xasha (talk) 19:10, 14 June 2008 (UTC)
well, I think that is not so important how we are going to name it in English. The most usual word for a non-autonomous little part of a country is named district or county. However, I would like that Moldovan districts differs as name from Romanian counties(like judetz and raion does). By the way, the MS Word spell checker does not recognize the "raion" as a valid word. I agree with him - I consider that Wikipedia should be simpler and not having so much "original" words. And I consider CIA Factbook an outdated and incoherent source of information. --serhio talk 05:36, 15 June 2008 (UTC)

Its one of the official names in Transnistria. But this has little to do with the current article name, which was decided by consensus.Xasha (talk) 13:23, 19 June 2008 (UTC)

No. I actually don't remember ever going to Transnistria, and I definitely wasn't there after the war. If you're talking about the infobox, I fixed it now. It was modified by mistake by the admin who made the move, and after that, when I reverted Romanian POV pushers, I didn't notice it.Xasha (talk) 14:03, 19 June 2008 (UTC)
There was I was in the municipality not a long ago. The city does not very fine, well, like a ordinal Moldovan one. But it's very russified. --serhio talk 14:31, 19 June 2008 (UTC)

Romanians

Salut Serhio,

It's good to see somebody is still fighting to keep Wikipedia free of Romanian nationalism and anti-Moldovan prejudices. Noroc! --Node (talk) 23:16, 18 June 2008 (UTC)

Well, I consider anti-Moldovan prejudices should not be necessarily pro-Romanian or pro-Russian. But sometimes they can be ones, and I consider that nobody but people can decide in this situation. More Moldovans are in Wikipedia, more objectivism will be in Moldova's related articles. By the way, I am Moldovan, but I am speaking Romanian ;) --serhio talk 03:57, 19 June 2008 (UTC)

Anume terminul "Moldavian" descrie esenta istoriei noastre. O zi buna P.S.

A historical region of eastern Romania east of Transylvania. Part of the Roman province of Dacia, it became a principality in the 14th century and passed to the Ottoman Empire in 1504, although it was continually attacked and often controlled by other powers. In 1861 Moldavia united with Walachia to form the nucleus of modern Romania.
->adj. Moldavian
Mol·do·va (ml-dv, môl-) Formerly Mol·da·vi·a (-dv-, -dvy)
A country of eastern Europe bordering on Romania.
->adj. Moldovan
la fel shi in articole enciclopedice engleze:
priveste site-ul oficial Moldovenesc:
fraze tip "The Moldovan folklore has a strong basis of Dacian-Latin origin"
Site-ul Uniunii Europene
("Site in Moldovan, Moldovan leu")...
Am creat si eu Public holidays in Moldova azi. WE placut! P.S. Hai ca nu-ti mai scriu moldoveneste ca-i totusi Wikipedia anglofona, si insist ca nu-i corect vis a vis de alti utilizatori.
las ca si asa-i bine! Check out my new signature! --Moldopodotalk 17:40, 21 June 2008 (UTC)
In franceza oficial e "Republique de Moldova". Vezi in pasaport-ul strain si pe site-uri UE oficiale in franceza ;) --serhio talk 23:12, 22 June 2008 (UTC)

Grape colours

Hello Serhio, I saw that you added several lines to the Template:Infobox grape variety. The pedigree information I find useful, and I will probably add that to several grapes! When it comes to the grape skin colour, however, I have some questions. Do you really think that the French-language terms Blanc, Noir &c. are the appropriate ones for an English language encyclopedia? As a non-native speaker I'm unsure myself. Also, which source did you use to choose these five? I'm not sure I've ever seen "Rouge" as a grape colour - it usually applies to wine rather than grapes in my experience, in difference from Blanc. (Germans use the term Roter... for some grapes, but they tend to be rose or gris in French.) As an example, you've classified Cabernet Sauvignon as a "Rouge" while it definitely would be one of the noirien - the black grapes - to a French viticulturist, although Americans tend to call them "red grapes". Regards, Tomas e (talk) 20:29, 21 June 2008 (UTC)

Thomas, man, see the template, and the references bellow. See a international German catalogue, with is not English nor French. http://www.vivc.bafz.de/datasheet/dataDefault.php?value=14 . By the way, you can use the following colors in this template(separated by '|' ):
  • Rose|rose|rs|RS|pink =DeepPink
  • Rouge|rouge|R|r|red =DarkRed
  • Gris|gris|G|g|gray-red =BlueViolet
  • Noir|noir|n|N|black =Indigo
  • Blanc|blanc|b|B|white =LightGoldenRodYellow
As for the Cabernet Sauvignon I'll be greatful to you if you'll fix my mistake. --serhio talk 23:04, 22 June 2008 (UTC)
